The nationwide awards are designed “to unearth and to share the stories of farmers across Ireland who are making a positive difference to nature on their farms and in their communities”.
Pat is down to the final six with the final stages of the competition now to be decided by a judging panel (40%) and members of the public (60%) who are requested to vote online, for the farmer who they consider should win this years competition.
All shortlisted farmers will become Bord Bia Farming For Nature Ambassadors.
The winner will be announced at an awards ceremony on the 27th of October as part of the Burren Winterage School, in Kinvara, Co. Galway where in addition to receiving the title and recognition for their achievements, the winner and runner up will also receive a cash prize.
