Wicklow hurlers face tricky trips up North in 2019 Christy Ring Cup

The Wicklow senior hurlers will face two difficult away trips to play Donegal and Derry in the 2019 Christy Ring Cup.

The draws for the Christy Ring, Lory Meagher, and Nicky Rackard cups were announced today, with Wicklow kicking off their Christy Ring campaign away to Nicky Rackard Cup winners Donegal.

That game will then be followed by the visit of Down to Aughrim, while Wicklow will conclude the group phase of the competition with an away trip to Derry.

Meanwhile, champions Kildare have been drawn against Roscommon, Meath, and London in the other group, with the latter having knocked Wicklow out of the competition at the semi-final stage last season.

The dates for the 2019 Christy Ring Cup fixtures will be finalised in the imminent future, pending approval from the Central Competitions Control Committee (CCCC).
