The Avoca Senior Citizens extend their sincere thanks to Myles Doyle and the staff at the Avoca Recycling Centre for all their generous donations to our Senior Citizen fund from the proceeds of the Clothes Recycling scheme.

This scheme is supporting many local charities so please think of them when clearing out your hot press and wardrobes. Our heartfelt thanks go out to all who contribute and collect for our local Senior Citizens, especially at this time of year.

Please give a thought to Our Senior Citizens Buckets to be found in these local shops: Avoca Post Office. Avoca Chemist. Henley’s shop and Café. Kelly’s Bar. PG Rowley’s Rathdrum. Leo’s Bar, Conary. The Meetings, Avoca. Farriers In, White Bridge. Delaney’s Shop, Woodenbridge. Our thanks also go to Mary O’Toole for the generous Donation to our funds of €120 which was gratefully received. Our Avoca Senior Citizens next New Year Party is be held on Sunday 13th. January 2019 at the Woodenbridge Hotel, and we are looking forward to meeting all our members both old and new there.


Avoca N.S. is taking enrolments coming academic year. The school has single-stream classes and there are spaces in all classes. We also offer a wide range of after-school clubs. If you would like to have, your child enrolled, please call the office on 0402-35331 or email us at avocans@hotmail.com. Forms can be downloaded and printed off from our website;www.avocaschool.ie. We will be having an Open Morning on Friday, 8th  of February, 2019 from 10.00 a.m. to 12 noon- All welcome.
