Arklow Municipal District has been working hard throughout the year preparing to create a wonderful Christmas atmosphere throughout the town for Christmas 2018.
To add to the new street lights purchased last year plans are underway for the following additions:
- New festoon LED lights for the Riverwalk and South Quay
- There will be a new crossover feature on Bridge Street
- Christmas lights will be attached to the railings of the bridge
- Lateran features will be erected on Ferrybank and the Wexford Road
In addition to the above the AMD have also purchased a quantity of Green Topiary Balls, 40cm in size, each fitted with battery operated six hour timer lights (cost to AMD €85). These pieces are suitable for hanging on the flower basket brackets already erected in the town.
AMD would like to offer retailers and businesses the opportunity to purchase outright a Topiary Ball with lights, at a subsidised cost of €50, to hang from the flower basket bracket. You are encouraged to view the Topiary Balls currently on display at the Courthouse, entrance to AMD Offices at Castle Park and the Library on the Main Street.
