Paul Dunne will take a one-shot lead into the second-round of the Turkish Airlines Open following a seven under-par 64 on day one.
The Turkish Open teed off this morning, with defending-champion Justin Rose and Dunne’s fellow Irishman Padraig Harrington tied for second-place on six under-par, alongside Thorbjorn Olesen
Dunne (25) kicked off his first-round on the 11th-hole and birdied five of his first nine holes, before moving into the outright lead on the day following a seven-foot put on the seventh.
He ended his round with a long-range birdie on the 10th to set the clubhouse target at seven under-par.
Speaking to Sky Sports following his impressive showing, Dunne said: “The holes I needed to hit a good shot on, I stepped up and hit a really straight one and that’s what I was really pleased with.
“I left a few putts short out there but I think we can always say that.”
Dunne will look to carry his early tournament form into the second-round, which tees off on Friday morning at 9am, live on Sky Sports Golf and Sky Sports Main-Event.
