A Status Orange Wind Warning has been issued by MET Eireann (Storm Deirdre) will then be in place from 2pm until 11pm tonight.

Strong and blustery southeasterly winds will veer westerly this evening and it will become stormy for a few hours with gale force westerly winds for a few hours with some severe and damaging gusts of 100 to 120km/h. Afternoon highs of 9 to 12 degrees Celsius. Turning colder this evening.

The rain will clear early tonight and winds will abate quickly overnight. It will be mostly dry but there will be a few showers. Cold with temperatures falling to 1 to 3 degrees Celsius with some frost developing around dawn.
