Aughrim GAA will be making a return to adult hurling for the first time in 10 years after announcing the introduction of a junior panel for the upcoming season.
The club held a meeting on Monday evening to discuss a variety of issues relating to the 2019 campaign, including the reestablishment of the hurling panel.
In a statement following the meeting, the club emphasized the importance of player involvement now that the decision has been made.
“A lot of discussion took place on this and now, more than ever, we need ALL our adult players to commit this year more than ever and push the club forward again,” the statement read.
Aughrim have been making strides towards launching an adult hurling squad since last week, when club secretary John Keenan requested players’ availability for any prospective team.
Meanwhile, Aughrim have also announced that they will be integrating a second football team to their ranks.
