17 year old Dunlavin girl Amy Barrett releases her second single ‘Heartbreak’ today (Friday 4th).
Amy released her debut single ‘Emilio’ last April.
“Thankfully the reaction to ‘Emilio’ was very positive and it gave me the confidence to release another song. It’s always difficult to know what to expect but you have to go for it.”
“The new single ‘Heartbreak’ is a song inspired by all the teenage drama many girls go through. You see it all the time. It’s not worth losing friendships over small problems.”
It will be a busy few months for the 6th Year Leaving Cert student.
“Time is always the problem. Releasing a song early in January will hopefully help with my New Year’s Resolution to write a lot more songs in 2019.”
Amy was fortunate to again get the chance to record the new song with Mark ‘Cappy’ Caplice based in Baltinglass.
“Cappy is very positive and encouraging and I’m really happy with it. It was mixed by talented producer Cian Sweeney (1000 Beasts). I’m sure we’ll hear a lot of him in the next few years.”
