Gardai appeal for motorists to keep away from the Sally Gap

Gardai are appealing to motorists to keep away from the Sally Gap during the present weather conditions.

A number of motorists have been left stranded this morning after getting stuck at Lough Bray on the Glencree to Sally Gap road (R115).

A Garda spokesperson said “The gardai are not responsible for people who do not heed the warnings and if your car gets stuck it can cost an awful lot of money to have it recovered from the hills.

Year after year we are appealing to these snow tourists, but they just do not listen,”
