Fire services in Wicklow town received the first call out of the new year only minutes into 2019.
It is understood a stray firework ignited gorse at the car-park on the Murrough.
Bray fire services also attended a road traffic collision at Old Connaught in the early hours of New Years day.
2018 was one of the busiest years for the fire services in Wicklow, over three days in June the services attended 40 fires as the dry spell took grip on the county.
