The Rathnew senior footballers will face tricky tests against Hollywood and AGB following the draw for the 2019 county championship.
The draw for the football and hurling championships took place on Monday evening, with respective champions St. Pat’s and Glenealy learning their fates for the coming season.
Last season’s beaten finalists and 34-time champions Rathnew have been handed a group of death, with the Village taking on Arklow Geraldines–Ballymoney — the side they beat in 2018’s semi-finals — as well as Hollywood and intermediate winners Tinahely.
In group two, reigning-champions St. Pat’s will look to Baltinglass and Éire Óg as difficult tests.
In the intermediate championship, newly-promoted Kilcoole share a group with beaten IFC finalists Carnew Emmets, while Annacurra — relegated from the SFC in 2018 — have been drawn into a group with the likes of Kilmacanogue, Laragh and Ballymanus.
Recently amalgamated Shillelagh-Coolboy will look to kick-off the new era in the Junior A football championship when they take on the likes of Aughrim, Blessington, and group favourites Valleymount.
