St. Patrick’s club notes week January 28th

Congratulations to Dean Healy, Stephen Duffy Club and all involved with the County Senior Footballers who got their League campaign off to a winning start with a one point victory in Dungarvan having trailed at half-time Waterford 0-07 Wicklow 0-01. An explosive second half performance saw Wicklow edge out their hosts with the Full time score: Waterford 0-09 Wicklow 1-07.

 

Congratulations to all involved with the County Senior Hurlers who made the trip to Birmingham on Saturday, and came with a well deserved victory. Full time score: Warwickshire 0-11 Wicklow 2-20

 

Congratulations to senior player Sinead McGettigan who will captain the County Minor team this year.

New Wicklow GAA Under 13 GCA Football Rising Stars Under 13 Talent Identification Program being launched in February. This program is open to all players born in 2006. More details to follow in the coming weeks.

Become a GAA Referee our Games need You. New referees required to service our games in both Juvenile & Adult for 2019. All Clubs are required to identify suitable candidates who are willing to contribute to Wicklow GAA. We need to be self sufficient to cater for all games in Hurling & Football. Let’s not be in a position where we have to call off games because we have no referees. Our sincere condolences to the family of Ann Byrne (née Kinsella) Seafield and late of Castle Street, Wicklow Town, Wicklow who passed away 26th January 2019 in the care of St Colman’s Hospital, Rathdrum. Predeceased by her beloved parents Captain William and Marie Kinsella and her siblings John and Kathryn. She will be sadly missed by her loving husband Sean, children Emma, Jenifer, Ruth, Ian and Colm and by her adored grandchildren James, Evan, Caia, Millie, Bella, Feidhlim, Phoebe and Finn, sons-in-law and daughter-in-law, sister Stephanie, brother-in-law, uncles, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Ann will repose at Flannery’s Funeral Home, Batchelor’s Walk, Wicklow Town on Tuesday 29th January from 6pm until 8pm.

Funeral arriving to the family home at Seafield on Wednesday morning at 9.15am and then proceeding at walking pace via Seaview Road and Castle Street arriving to St Patrick’s Church at 9.50am for 10am Funeral Mass followed by interment in Rathnew Cemetery.

House Private.

The family would like to thank the staff of St Colman’s Hospital, Rathdrum especially in Lavender Vale for the care and attention given to Ann.

Family flowers only please, donations, if desired, to the Lavender Vale Unit at St Colman’s, Rathdrum can be made at the Funeral Home and Church.
