St. Pat’s to host Baltinglass as opening day league fixtures announced

Senior county football champions St. Pat’s will host Baltinglass on the opening day of the 2019 league season, with hurling winners Glenealy hosting Kiltegan.

The Wicklow CCC fixtures committee published the first round of fixtures for the county leagues following a meeting on Tuesday night, with Pat’s vs Baltinglass being the pick of the games on the weekend of the 10th of February.

Elsewhere, defending division one champions Rathnew travel to Kiltegan, while Hollywood kick-off their league campaign at Arklow Geraldines-Ballymoney in another fascinating encounter.

Meanwhile, Bray Emmets and Dunlavin — relegated from division one in 2018 — begin their road back to the top ranks in division 1A with the visit of Carnew (promoted from division two) and a trip to Annacurra respectively.

Carnew’s fellow promotees Newtown travel to Greystones to take on Éire Óg in their opening day division 1A clash.

In hurling, defending senior championship winners Glenealy host Kiltegan when the league kicks-off on the weekend of the 10th of March, while reigning league champions Carnew travel to Éire Óg.

Elsewhere, Avondale — who make the jump from the intermediate league to senior in 2019 — travel to St. Pat’s.
