Arklow Town Team mark International Women’s Day

Following the success of last year’s celebrations members of Arklow Town Team have again organised an International Women’s Day Lunch to celebrate the special day which takes place on Friday 8th March.

International Women’s Day provides an important opportunity to showcase commitment to women’s equality and to raise awareness.  The day is celebrated and supported globally by industry, governments, community groups, charities, the media and many more. The theme for the 2019 event is “Balance for Better”.

This year’s event will take place in the Arklow Bay Hotel from 12 pm to 2.30pm with tickets costing €25.  Guest speakers will include journalist Valerie Cox; Deirdre Burns, County Wicklow Heritage Officer and students from St Mary’s College, Arklow.

A raffle will be held on the day and all proceeds will go to C.E.A.R.T. Women’s group who do amazing work in County Wicklow.

Tickets for the event can be purchased from the Arklow Bay Hotel, Cllr Mary McDonald, Cllr Miriam Murphy and at the offices of Arklow Municipal District.
