As Wicklow football supporters were making their way to Aughrim on Sunday, news was filtering through of the passing of former Wicklow GAA secretary Mick Murphy.
Mick, a member and former player of St.Patrick’s GAA club, was well known beyond Wicklow, having served as secretary on the county board.
Murphy was also the current secretary for Pat’s, as well as Leinster council representative.
Tributes have poured in from clubs all over the county.
Sad news today on the passing of former Wicklow Gaa county secretary Michael Murphy.Michael was always a pleasure to deal with in his role as county secretary.
Our symathies to his family and his clubmates in St Patricks Gaa Wicklow.
