Ballyellis National School “Split the Pot”

Friday 15th  March  2019   winner of  “Split the Pot” is Essie Doran, The Commons, Castlewhite,   winning €135.   We thank everyone for supporting “Split the Pot”. Envelopes can be obtained from the School or any Parent and from Ashling Walsh after weekend Mass in Askamore Church.. Draws will take place every Friday morning in Ballyellis School.



Ballyellis National School Enrolment Forms for September 2019

Enrolment forms are now available for those wishing to enrol in September 2019.

If you know of anyone wishing to have a child enrolled in Ballyellis please inform them that these forms are now available. Please contact the office on 053 9426159 or email the school at  if you wish to have an enrolment form sent out or call into the school to collect form.



The winner of Scoil Aodan Naofa Carnew Split the Pot of 14th March was won by Bernie O’ Hara who won €200 . Congratulations.

The sellers prize was won by Aoife Wafer who won a €10 voucher for Victors and the lucky dip winner was Emily Lawrence.

The following are the walks for the next two weeks for Tinahely walking club

Mar 24: Lugduff-Spinc, Level B, 14km, 4.5hrs. Meet Tinahely 9.15am or Glendalough (upper car park) 9.45am.

Mar 31: Annagh Hill, Level B, 9km, 3hrs. Meet Tinahely 10.15am; or The Gap 10.30am.

As usual, please remember to wear proper walking boots, pack full rain gear and bring adequate food & drink.



The Gap Vintage club are holding their annual car and tractor run on Sunday 24th March, in aid of Talk to Tom. Meeting at the Gap pub Ballythomas for registration between 11.30 – 12.00, run starts at 12.30, no registration fee, donation on the day. Soup and sandwiches served on return, spot prizes on the day, all welcome.



Sincere sympathy is extended to the family and relatives of Eileen Byrne Nee OSullivan, Deerpark who died during the week , her remains were removed to Tomacork on Monday for 12 noon mass, followed by burial in the adjoining grave yard.

A coffee morning will be held on Friday 22nd March, daffodil day, in The Courthouse, Tinahely from 10am to 1pm in aid of the Irish Cancer Society, please come along and have a cuppa and a chat and a bit of home baking. Everyone welcome.

This is the true story of Monsignor Hugh O’Flaherty’s War time Exploits written and performed by Donal Courtney will take place in St Bridget’s Hall, Carnew on Thursday 4th April, tickets €12 in aid of St Bridget’s Church Askamore, all support welcome.
