Greystones Municipal District is to seek funding from the Department of Justice, Equality & Law Reform towards the installation of a community-based CCTV system for the town of Greystones.
It is intended that such a CCTV system would increase public safety and deter illegal or anti-social behaviour.
In consultation with the local Gardai, a survey of the town has been carried out and, subject to funding, it is proposed to install 11 cameras on poles at locations between the Harbour and Mill Road.
A map showing the exact locations is on display and available to view in the offices of Greystones Municipal District and Greystones Garda Station and at http://bit.ly/GreystonesCCTVProposal.
The Council is seeking submissions on the CCTV proposal in writing or by email to Greystones MD, Civic Offices, Mill Road, Greystones – Greystonesmd@wicklowcoco.ie – to be received by Friday 29th March 2019.
