The Roundwood and District Community Council are organising a Parish wide clean up this year on the 6th of April. If you would like to get involved this year please email , leave a message on the Facebook page or telephone 087 2551579. There are a limited number of litter pickers but plenty of refuse sacks/recycling bags available. If you are new to the area or would like to tackle a litter black spot do get in contact ~ it’s a great way to meet the neighbours too!



Wicklow Community Games Cross Country will be heldin Avondale on Sunday 31st March, assembling at 10.30a.m Races over the following distances Under 6: 200m, Under 8: 300m, Under 10: 400m, Under 12: 600m, Under 13: 1200m, Under 14: 800m, Under16: 1600m & Marathon 2km . Contact Seamus Doyle @ 086 8557962 before March 23rd if you wish to compete. Charge of €3/per entry collected before races.



Birthday Boy Paddy O Brien  secured 1st place for North/South  with partner Rowena Brady, 2nd Monica Brady & Bridie Nolan, 3rd Brid Clancy & Margaret Byrne and 4th Catherine McGillycuddy and Gertie Fee.  1st place for East/West was won by Maria Magee & Judy Skates, 2nd Marian Davis and Teresa Leahy, and joint 3rd/4th John Losher and Marie Kavanagh and Seamus Kennedy and Triona Woodroofe



Roundwood and District Community Council with the support of Kildare Wicklow Education Training Board are running an 8 week mural art project for adults in Roundwood starting in late March. There was no jackpot winner in last weeks draw. The numbers drawn were 3, 4, 9 & 17. There were ten match three winners, J Waters, N Lyons, C Dunleavy, D Carstairs, K Hannon, S McCormack, P Devine, C&T, R Cullen & J Lowe. Next weeks jackpot will be €10,900.


The Shed continues every Tuesday between 10 and 12 in our Shed within a Shed at Pat Carr’s place in Knockraheen. The topics are wide and varied and we continue to participate in a growing list of activities.



Our weekly set dancing sessions continue in Kavanagh’s Lounge with the O’Kane family returning for the month of March.  All are always welcome – whether you have ever or never danced before…. Session starts at 8.30 til 10.30 and cost is still only €5 for a good night of exercise.



There will be a pilgrimage to Knock on Saturday 27th April leaving Laragh at 7.45am & at Roundwood 8a.m. The cost is €65 per person and includes, bus, breakfast and dinner. There will be a trip to Lourdes from 27th – 31st May and three seats left for May 20th – 24th. Six places from 19th – 26th July for seven days full board, no single supplement at a cost of €585 & transport from airport to Lourdes. Own insurance, baggage of 10kg included. A €150 deposit to Susan O’Neill at 087 6273032 as soon as possible. There will be a tour of Scotland from the 26th to the 31st July for six days. Included are The Highlands of Scotland and The Orkney Isles, Perth, Thurso, Inverness, Lock Lomond, Lock Ness and Glencoe and many more places at a cost of €750 per person all in. A deposit of €200 is required on or before the 1st April with single supplement of €100 to Susan at 087 6273032. The Westport Country break takes place from 20th to 25th October at a cost of €425. CoderDojo is a global volunteer led community of free programming clubs for young people. Young people learn how to code, develop websites, apps, programs, games and explore technology. The first session this term started on the 23rd of February in Roundwood NS at 1:30pm.  For further information and registration please see Booking is essential.



The Roundwood Cancer Support centre is now up and running and is open in the Parish Centre on Monday, Wednesdays and Fridays from 10a.m until 1pm. The Roundwood and District Community Council are registered to administer the senior alert scheme which provides grants to elderly people towards the provision of personal alarms. The personal alarm offers reassurance to allow independent living, safe in the knowledge that you can quickly be in contact with a family member or neighbour in the event of an emergency. The monthly dance will take place in Roundwood Parish Centre on Friday 22nd March with music by The Wicklow Man

Roundwood Whizzers Walking Group are back in action meeting at 7pm every Wednesday at the Coach House car park.  All welcome to walk at your own pace for approximately one hour.



Angel Healing and Angelic Guidance is back tomorrow evening Monday the 3rd of September in the Parish Hall Roundwood at 7.30 sharp. So if you would enjoy an evening of peace relaxation and hands on energy healing join us for a wonderful new experience.

A 45 Card Game takes place every Tuesday night in Moneystown Community Centre starting at a new time of 8. pm for the winter months beginning on the 30th October  Teas served. All are welcome
