St. Patrick’s club notes week March 25th

Hard luck to to our own Patrick O’Keane and coach Padge McWalter and all involved with Wicklow Schools who were unlucky in the Top Oil Brother Bosco Cup Leinster Schools Post Primary Schools Senior A football Championship Final in Parnell Park, Dublin on Wednesday night. A fantastic game of football was witnessed by all who attended. FINAL SCORE after extra time: Naas 2-12 Wicklow Schools 1-09.

 

 

Well done to our Senior Hurlers who traveled to Kiltegan for the Senior Hurling League on Sunday morning at 11am. After a slow start in Kiltegan we finally got into our stride and eventually got the important scores to win the game and see off a well organized kiltegan outfit. Full time score: Kiltegan 1-10 St Patrick’s 4-12.

Next up for the seniors we welcome Co. Champions Glenealy next Sunday at 11.am to Dunbur. With 3 weeks to go to the start of the SHC an all over improvement with be required.

Hard luck to Our brilliant Wicklow Ladies just ran out of time as they produced a stirring comeback to rattle off 3 quickfire goals in the dying minutes against table toppers Meath in front of a massive crowd in Páirc Tailteann in Navan. The final game is a clash with Longford who lost out narrowly to Roscommon on Sunday so a win or draw would see Wicklow through to the league semi final. Full time Meath 1-18 Wicklow 3-06

Last Man Standing: After the first 7 rounds of matches we are down to 62 people. This is the last round of the regular league fixtures.  The next stage of our competition will involve predicting the winners of all the league finals.

Predictions made by the remaining competitors from this weekend’s Division 1 & 2 football league matches are:

Armagh to beat Cork 10 people, Dublin to beat Cavan 24 people, Kerry to beat Roscommon 16 people, Mayo to beat Monaghan 1 person, Meath to beat Fermanagh 1 person, Tipperary to beat Clare 5 people, Tyrone to beat Galway 5 people.
