VINTAGE TRACTOR CAR RUN

Annamoe centre will hold their vintage tractor car run will be on the 14th April at 12 o’clock looking forward to a great day.

Brid Clancy & Phil Power were  winners by a very large margin for North/South on Monday 25th, 2nd GertieFee & Monica Brady, 3rd Pamela Byrne & Clare Sally and 4th Paddy O Brien & John Loscher.   1st for East/West were Marion Davis & Teresa Leahy, 2nd Catherine McGillycuddy & Bridie Nolan, 3rd Margaret Byrne & Maura Gaskin  and 4th Claire O Connor & Declan O Brien.

1st for North/South on Friday 29th March were Monica Brady & June Digby, 2nd Noeleen Redmond & Margaret Bolger and 3rd Paddy OBrien & John Loscher.   Liz Belton & Phil Kenna took 1st place for East/West, 2nd Marion Davis & Teresa Leahy and 3rd Nancy O Brien & Catherine McGillycuddy.

 

AUCTION

There will be an auction of household furniture on Sunday 14th April in the Parish Centre after 11.30a.m mass. All proceeds will go to The Roundwood Cancer Support Group.

 

BINGO

Fun Bingo will take place on in the Annamoe Centre on Sunday 8th April from 3pm.  Family members and friends are more than welcome to attend.  €5 per book and great raffle prizes.  Come along and enjoy

The next Active Retirement lunch will be held in The Roundwood Inn on Friday 26th April at 1.30pm

 

SPRING CLEAN

The Roundwood and District Community Council are organising a Parish wide clean up this year on the 6th of April. If you would like to get involved this year please email info@roundwood.ie , leave a message on the Roundwood.ie Facebook page or telephone 087 2551579. There are a limited number of litter pickers but plenty of refuse sacks/recycling bags available. If you are new to the area or would like to tackle a litter black spot do get in contact ~ it’s a great way to meet the neighbours too!

 

COMMUNITY COUNCIL

The next Roundwood & District Community Council meeting will take place on Monday 8th of April at 8:30pm in Roundwood Parish Hall. All welcome.

 

MURAL ART PROJECT

Roundwood and District Community Council with the support of Kildare Wicklow Education Training Board are running an 8 week mural art project for adults in Roundwood starting in late March. MENS SHED

The Shed continues every Tuesday between 10 and 12 in our Shed within a Shed at Pat Carr’s place in Knockraheen. The topics are wide and varied and we continue to participate in a growing list of activities.

 

MONEYSTOWN DANCE

The Wicklow Man will play in Moneystown Community Cnetre on Friday 5th April from 9.30pm until 12 midnight.  Teas served, refreshments also available.  Come along and enjoy a night of waltzing, jive, linedancing etc.MARKET RE-OPENINGRoundwood Market has reopened! SET DANCING

Our weekly set dancing sessions continue in Kavanagh’s Lounge All are always welcome – whether you have ever or never danced before…. Session starts at 8.30 til 10.30 and cost is still only €5 for a good night of exercise.

 

TRIPS

There will be a pilgrimage to Knock on Saturday 27th April leaving Laragh at 7.45am & at Roundwood 8a.m. The cost is €65 per person and includes, bus, breakfast and dinner. All money to be paid by 1st April to Susan at 087 6273032. There will be a trip to Lourdes from 27th – 31st May and three seats left for May 20th – 24th. Six places from 19th – 26th July for seven days full board, no single supplement at a cost of €585 & transport from airport to Lourdes. Own insurance, baggage of 10kg included. A €150 deposit to Susan O’Neill at 087 6273032 as soon as possible. There will be a tour of Scotland from the 26th to the 31st July for six days. Included are The Highlands of Scotland and The Orkney Isles, Perth, Thurso, Inverness, Lock Lomond, Lock Ness and Glencoe and many more places at a cost of €750 per person all in. A deposit of €200 is required on or before the 1st April with single supplement of €100 to Susan at 087 6273032. The Westport Country break takes place from 20th to 25th October at a cost of €425. UNWANTED LAPTOPS

CoderDojo Roundwood are looking for any unwanted laptops for use in our local Dojo (computer club). Any laptops donated, no matter what make or age, will be wiped clean of any data thereon and will be reprogrammed to allow children who may not have access to a laptop learn a new skill in this fun environment.  Any donations will be greatly appreciated. COMPUTER CODING CLUB

CoderDojo is a global volunteer led community of free programming clubs for young people. Young people learn how to code, develop websites, apps, programs, games and explore technology. ROUNDWOOD CANCER SUPPORT

The Roundwood Cancer Support centre is now up and running and is open in the Parish Centre on Monday, Wednesdays and Fridays from 10a.m until 1pm. LOTTO RESULTS

There was no jackpot winner in last weeks lotto. The numbers drawn were 3, 12, 18 & 30. There were  nine match three winners, Jade Scott, A Becker, Tony Flynn, Jean O’Shea, Tom & Mop, S Wolohan, Chris Davis, Eamonn & Tony FLYNN. Next weeks jackpot will be €11,500.

 

PERSONAL ALARMS

The Roundwood and District Community Council are registered to administer the senior alert scheme which provides grants to elderly people towards the provision of personal alarms. The personal alarm offers reassurance to allow independent living, safe in the knowledge that you can quickly be in contact with a family member or neighbour in the event of an emergency. WHIST RESULTS

The results of the whist are as follows:- Top Score: Mary Pierce; Top Gent: Pat Fisher; Second Gent: Shay Brady, First Lady: Anne Wolohan; Second Lady: Magdalen Kennedy; First Half: Martin Byrne; Second Half: Anne Pierce; Longest Sitting, Paddy O’Brien & Lowest Score: Tiney Shortt. Raffle prizes were won by Paddy O’Brien, Richie Cullen, Anne Pierce & Catherine Doyle. Next whist is on this Wednesday 10th April in The Parish Centre.

The monthly dance will take place in Roundwood Parish Centre on Friday 19th April with music by Jimmy Hogan

Roundwood Whizzers Walking Group are back in action meeting at 7pm every Wednesday at the Coach House car park.  All welcome to walk at your own pace for approximately one hour.
