Well done to our U13 hurlers who won the Leinster cross county shield final on Sunday, beating Gaeil Colmcille from Meath by 1 point. Many thanks to St Mary’s Leixlip who hosted the final. Two evenly matched teams on the day we got the crucial score before full time to edge the match. Well done boys.

Hard luck to all involved with our Feile Footballers who travelled to Ballinakill for lunchtime Saturday for the Wicklow competition. We were in Group 1 in the Feile A Division drawn against AGB, Eire Og and St. Nicholas. In the opening game we did not convert the opportunities that came our way early on against AGB. A fine second half performance saw us come up short against a very well drilled AGB side who were the eventual group 1 winners. Next up we played Eire Og and were worthy winners after an entertaining game. Lastly we played St. Nicholas in the final game and it was not to be. We are so proud of all the lads who gave it their all and were not found wanting.

Last Man Standing: Our competition went down to the Division 1 football final between Kerry and Mayo this afternoon which was won by Mayo on a scoreline of 3-11 (20 points) to 2-10 (16 points). We had 7 people left standing after the Kerry/Mayo match and so the competition has been decided by the score tie breaker that they submitted. The prize of €500 has been shared between Gerry Garvey and Leighton Glynn. Congratulations to you both. They could not be separated as each of them had predicted that Mayo would win on a scoreline of 2-14 (20 points) to 1-15 (18 points). They both got the Mayo aggregate points total correct of 20 points and were only 2 points off the Kerry aggregate points total of 16 points.
A big thank you to all of you who entered our competition and I hope it proved to be a bit of fun during the first couple of months of the GAA season.
See you all again in 2020 for the next edition of our Last Man Standing competition.
