Wicklow wrestler wins second WWE Intercontinental title at Wrestlemania 35

Wicklow born WWE wrestler Fergal Devitt, more commonly known by his ring name Finn Balor, claimed the WWE Intercontinental title for the second time at Wrestlemania 35 last night.

‘The Demon’ defeated champion Bobby Lashley in what was the last men’s division encounter of a 14 match card at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.

Limerick’s Becky Lynch was also victorious as she defeated both Ronda Rousey and Charlette Flair to win the Raw and Smackdown Women’s titles in what was the first ever Woman’s main event at a Wrestlemania.

Dublin man Sheamus came up short in a losing effort alongside his partner Cesaro in a fatal four way match for the Smackdown Tag Team titles.
