Yoga Classes with Yvonne in Aughrim (mixed level) New Monday Morning 4 week course starting on May 20th. 9.30-10.45am. €40 for 4 week course. €13 drop in rate.  Classes continue on Wednesday evenings 8-9.15pm. Mass of the Angels

Mass of the Angels will be celebrated on Saturday June 8th at 8pm in Church of the Sacred Heart Aughrim.  This special celebration of Mass will be offered for all families in our locality who have lost a baby due to miscarriage, lost a baby around the time of birth or who have lost a child who died in infancy. Hymns during mass will be sung by the Avondale Voices Choir.  All are welcome to attend this special mass.

GAA News

After a 10 year absence we fielded in our first adult Hurling league match last Wednesday night against Bray in Ballinakill .Although we were well beaten in the end by a stronger Bray side ,the Aughrim team on duty on the night gave a very encouraging performance and lost nothing in defeat.Well done to the whole panel of players and management that made this happen.    Our adult footballers had a well deserved win against Hollywood last Sunday at home. It was very encouraging to see a good turn out for this game and our next match in the league is also at home against Blessington on Saturday May 25th at 6 pm.       A big thank you to all who organised and supported the coffee morning in Murphy’s Tinahely last Friday morning in aid of the Luke O’Toole’s under 14 hurling Feile team.

Ballycoog ICA

Ballycoog ICA guild is holding a fundraiser for our senior citizens party. This will take place in Ballycoog Hall on Friday May 24th at 7.30pm. We have a night of entertainment for you to enjoy. We have a choir with us Avondale Voices, sketches performed by the following Thomas Clare Avoca ICA and Ballycoog ICA. We will also be serving light refreshments, admission is €5. This promises to be a very entertaining night, so when you go out to cast your vote come along and join with us.  Looking forward to seeing you all there.

Family Fun Run/Walk

Aughrim GAA and Luke O Toole’s U14 Feile teams are holding a family fun run/walk on Sunday May 19th at 4pm along the beautiful Ciaran Shannon walk. It starts and finishes at the Aughrim sports complex where there will be refreshments served after. Entry fee is adults €5 and children €3. All support for this great bunch of lads will be very much appreciated.

Active Retirement

Yoga continues on Tuesdays at 10.30 am. Our Spa Day is taking place on Thursday May 23rd. Cost including 2 treatments and lunch, is €60.Our Dawn Chorus will be on Sunday May 26th at 8am, at the Pavilion. There will be music, song and poetry to enjoy, with breakfast afterwards.

Annual Parish Sale

Castlemacadam Annual Parish Sale on Saturday May 18th at 2.00pm in The Hartin Hall, Cake Stall, Vegetable Stall, and many more please come along bring a friend and have a cup of tea and chat.


The numbers: 7, 11, 20 and 24 were drawn in this weeks Aughrim Sports club lotto May 6th. The jackpot was not won. Match three winners were: Kate Byrne c/o Bobby and Claire Newsome c/o Bobby. The jackpot is €2250.

Town & Country Market

A warm welcome to all at Aughrim Town & Country Market, Rednagh Road, every Saturday from 10am-2pm. Enjoy the buzz in the Pavilion Cafe as you catch up with friends over coffee and treats.
