Search for missing Bray climber on Everest now recovery operation

The search for missing Bray climber Seamus Lawless on the world’s highest peak is now a recovery operation.

RTE News reported this evening that the trekking company who organised the trip said  “Conditions descending the mountain were “very good” but that Mr Lawless appears to have had an accidental fall. It is a very difficult situation. We are searching for a body,””

Mr.Lawless a Professor in Trinity college fell while descending from the summit on Thursday.

The search was called off on Friday due to severe weather conditions.

Winds of up to 100kph are being experienced on Everest and the temperature is dropping as low as -45C.
