Busy Fingers Pre-school & Toddler Group

We are now taking enrolments for September, catering for children from 2-6 years of age.  Free places are available under the ECCE scheme, and subsidies for families under the new National Childcare Scheme.  For enrolments or any further information please ring 0402 36407 or  087 394 9867.

Aughrim Tidy Towns Friday Night Clean Up

Anyone interested in helping to tidy up the village can meet on Friday evenings at the monument at 7.00 pm. Please bring along brushes, trowels, shovels, gloves etc. if you have them. Please like, share and tag friends on the Aughrim Tidy Towns Facebook page to keep up to date with areas that need tidying if Friday night does not suit.  Don’t forget to send your photos so we can post them on our page.  All welcome letsmakeaughrimgreatagain.

Community Games

Last week end our local children took part in the Aldi National Community Games Festival in UL Limerick. Well done to all our competitors in Limerick you are a fantastic group of participants who made your area very proud. Thank you to Anne Marie Doyle for looking after you so well.  Our marathon girls Laci Jane Shannon and Juliette Nic Chonaill cane third. Our U12 and U14 ran their hearts out and our mixed U13 cross country came 5th. We had a golden medal winner in the U12 handwriting. Well done Sean Byrne. It was a great weekend for everybody.

Aughrim/Annacurra Community Games Shillelagh 2019

County Wicklow Track and Field finals will take place Saturday June 15th in Shillelagh.  Please gather for the parade from 9am collecting singlet and label from your coaches. Please wear a white T shirt with dark shorts. Bring plenty of water, sun cream (we hope) and a picnic.

Corpus Christi Procession

All First Holy Communion children are invited to the Corpus Christi
Procession on Sunday  June 23rd. at the Mass.

Cemetery Mass

The Annual Cemetery Mass and Blessing of the Graves in Askinagap
will take place on Sunday the 23rd. June, 2019 at

Active Retirement

There will be no yoga class for June. We are planning a day out before our summer break. This will be to The Royal Oak Whiskey Distillery and the Arboretum in Leiglinbridge on Friday June 28th. Monday walks continue. We meet at 10.30am and have coffee and a chat afterwards.

Mass of the Angels

Mass of the Angels will be celebrated on next Saturday June 8th at 8pm in Church of the Sacred Heart Aughrim.  This special celebration of Mass will be offered for all families in our locality who have lost a baby due to miscarriage, lost a baby around the time of birth or who have lost a child who died in infancy. Hymns during mass will be sung by the Avondale Voices Choir.


The numbers: 9, 10, 15 and 19 were drawn in this weeks Aughrim Sports club lotto May 27th. The jackpot was not won. Match three winner was: Thomas Moules.  The jackpot is €2700.

Town & Country Market

A warm welcome to all at Aughrim Town & Country Market, Rednagh Road, every Saturday from 10am-2pm. Enjoy the buzz in the Pavilion Cafe as you catch up with friends over coffee and treats. Delicious brunches and light lunches are also on offer.  Fresh local produce available, including organic fruit and vegetables, locally produced meat, eggs, preserves and fresh home baked bread and cakes.
