Among the charities to benefit during the Arts festival was Friedreich’s Ataxia Research Alliance (FARA) Ireland. The held  a bric a brac sale in the hall on Sunday. They raised 539 euro.  FARA Ireland would like to thank everyone who donated items for sale,  bought goods on the day and supported the raffle. 1st prize household hamper was won my Mary Deegan, Grangebeg, 2nd prize water colour picture of a farmhouse went Marie Conran,  Milltown. 3rd prize child book and teddy Elizabeth Carley. The money goes directly to research.

 

Maureen Dennis Memorial Set Dance

Thanks to all who supported last weeks set dance ceili in the Imall Hall in aid of St Bridgids Hospice on the Curragh. A total of € 1880 was raised. Well done to the organisers.

 

St. Nicholas Blessed Well Pilgrimage – Please meet at the green at 6.30pm this Saturday June 29th to walk to the Blessed Well. Mass will also be celebrated on Sunday, June 30th at 6.30pm at the Blessed Well. Everyone is welcome – please join us.

 

A Blood Clinic – will take place in St. Kevin’s Community College, Dunlavin on Thursday, June 27th from 5.00pm – 8.30pm. Please support where possible.

 

Garden Open – Strawberries & Cream & Afternoon Tea – will take place at Ruth Fishers home, Tober Road, Dunlavin on Sunday, June 30th from 2.30pm to 5.30pm. Plants & Cakes will be on sale – Admission €5.00 Proceeds in aid of St. Nicholas’ Church of Ireland, Dunlavin. All are welcome.

 

West Wicklow Cancer Support – Drop in Meeting: An evening of Craft & Creativity followed by Meditation and some light refreshments. Sympathy

Sympathy is extended to Betty McEvoy (former secretary St. Kevin,s) on the death of her mother Marie Brady, Glashina, Blessington. Marie’s funeral took place in Blessington. May she rest in peace.

Outreach Service

“There is a new domestic violence outreach service in West Wicklow provided by Saoirse Women’s refuge in Tallaght. We can offer confidential appointments providing support to women suffering from domestic violence in the community, including Court Accompaniment. The drop in clinics areas follows: Every Monday 9:30am-11:30am Blessington Library, Every Wednesday afternoon 2:30pm-4:30pm Seomra Imaal Hall Dunlavin and Every Friday 9:30-11:30am The equestrian/The Lawlor centre Baltinglass. Alarms

Dunlavin and District Forum are delighted to partner with Dunlavin Friendship Club in availing of a scheme being rolled out by Muintir na Tire.

This scheme allows for the provision of carbon monoxide alarms in houses that don’t already have them. Alarms will be provided and installed free of charge with a maximum of two per household.

This Muintir na Tire programme is aimed at persons who do not have existing alarms and do not have the resources to install alarms themselves. We would particularly invite those over 65 to avail of the scheme.

Healing.

Healing Mandala – Always wanted to try your hand at painting a healing mandala? Now is your chance. Pranic healer Bernie Sheridan is hosting classes in An Lár Market Sq, Dunlavin on Thursdays at 11am. Price is €10 and materials will be supplied. The only skill required is the ability to have fun! Sunflower Day – collected a total of €950 in aid of St. Brigid’s Hospice. Many thanks to all who supported, it was very much appreciated.

 

The Leinster Loop Charity Cycle – will take place on Sunday, June 30th. The cyclists will pass through Dunlavin, from Tynte Park through the town towards Colbinstown between approx 12 noon and 3.00pm. Please be extra aware of safety when travelling to and from 12 noon Mass. And indeed it may give our parishioners an opportunity to provide encouragement and support to the cyclists on route.

 

Used Postage Stamps

Please keep your used postage stamps for St. Patrick’s Missions, Kiltegan who can use them to fundraise. Used stamps can be dropped into the parish office any time. Thank you to all who have donated stamps throughout the past year.
