A Burmese python snake that was found by a farmer in the Wicklow Mountains last week has died.
ISPCA Chief Inspector Conor Dowling said that the snake was underweight and malnourished after being most likely abandoned in a climate it is completely unsuitable for.
The snake named Sammi had been in the care of a reptile specialist.
If anyone has any information about this snake or any other sightings, they are asked to contact the ISPCA by calling 1890 515 515 or emailing helpline@ispca.ie.
