Second annual Arklow 5k for €5k Fun Run happening this Sunday

AIB staff in Arklow are reminding people there are just a few days left sign up to the second annual 5K for €5k fun run in aid of Arklow Cancer Support on Sunday 30th June at 10am. Last year, over 250 people took part and helped AIB staff raise over €7,000 which went towards supporting the vital work that Arklow Cancer Support does on a daily basis. Anyone looking to run or walk the race can sign up in the AIB Arklow branch, online at www.popupraces.ie or in person on the day.

Celebrating its 10th Anniversary in the town, Arklow Cancer Support is a voluntary organisation that relies on fundraising and donations from the general public. They provide the local community with a wide range of core services including specialised therapies, complementary therapies, volunteer driving and counselling, as well as essential information services and classes.

This year, AIB staff have lined up Joe’s Bike Shop who will sponsor two bicycles, one for the first boy and girl under 16 years of age to cross the finish line. There will also be prizes for adults on the day. The first 150 people to register will also receive a free T-Shirt, and everyone who crosses the finish line will receive a goodie bag.
