The Taste of Wicklow festival, held annually in the Abbey Grounds in Wicklow Town, will become a three day festival for the first time ever in 2019.
This year will see 40 food stalls and 30 craft stalls giving local producers the platform to showcase their talents and excellent quality produce.
The festival gets underway on Friday, June 28th, with the showing of the family outdoor movie “The Greatest Showman”. Doors open at 9pm, with snacks, music and a full bar available with the movie starting at 10.20pm.
The fun-filled weekend continues on Saturday with a whole host of djs and musical acts taking to the stage from 5.30pm to warm the crowd up for the main event itself, the star-studded bands of “Jameire” (Bob Marley Tribute Band) and“Promises and Lies” (UB40 Tribute Band).
Sunday will see the traditional family fun day and Taste of Wicklow food festival commence, with celebrity chefs such as Derry Clarke, Catherine Fulvio, Paul Kelly and and a host of local chefs showcasing all the wonderful food that County Wicklow has to offer.
With record breaking crowds attending last year’s festival, Chairman of the festival, John Sinnott advises patrons to book early for all events, as last year at the Taste of Wicklow on Sunday, only those with pre-bought tickets could be admitted in the afternoon as a result of the capacity attendance owing to health and safety guidelines.
Tickets are available now online at www.tasteofwicklow.ie with special early bird promotions available now! Fund-raising raffle tickets will also be on sale next week in retail shops throughout the town, with a great selection of cash and other prizes and tickets bought there will give the buyers free entry to the Taste of Wicklow on Sunday.
