Temperatures to reach 28 degrees by Friday

Summer could finally be about to arrive in Ireland as we look set to swap the wet and windy weather we have had throughout June for bright warm spells.

Met Eireann has forecasted that temperatures will climb gradually as the week progresses, with highs of 28 degress expected in parts of the country by Thursday and Friday.

However, accompanying the warm weather will be the possibility of scattered thunderstorms.

“It’s not going to be wall-to-wall sunshine although it will be warm, there will be some occasionally thunderstorms breaking out as well because of the warmth. Overall, we’re going to see very high temperatures later in the week. That seems to be the clear signal,” said a Met Eireann spokesperson.
