Text alert system to combat anti-social behaviour on DART to be introduced

A new text alert system that will allow people to discreetly report anti-social behaviour to security on DART services is set to be introduced next month.

There have been 128 reported cases of anti-social behaviour on the DART since the beginning of last year. Such behaviour has included, assaults, theft, harassment and public alcohol consumption.

The text service will mirror the one currently in use on the LUAS services. Irish Rail have also announced that they will be deploying extra staff to crack down on anti-social behaviour on its services.
