Pilates Classes in Laragh

Pilates strengthens core muscles, improves muscle control, flexibility, strength and tone, as well as alignment and breathing. Zara Elkinson has trained and qualified through the STOTT Pilates Method of Movement. This method combines modern theories of exercise science with spinal rehabilitation, which gives a safe and effective exercise that sees results and is accessible to all. A meeting of Wicklow County Council was  held on Monday 1st July agreed by a margin of 30 votes for and 2 not present, that the Council proceed with the development of the scheme as set out in the Chief Executive’s report dated the 27th of June, 2019  amended in accordance with the map circulated to the elected members at Council meeting.

Nature Explorers

Our outdoor programme for those aged 5 to 11 years helps children identify and appreciate the natural world. Most activities will take place off track (not suitable for buggies). An adult must stay with the children and be prepared to help. Themes include mammals, ponds, butterflies, flowers, birds and trees. Activities commence at 11 am every Wednesday from 3rd July to 28th August inclusive and start at the Information Office. Booking is essential (0404-45425).

Glendalough Hermitage Centre

Adoration Sunday takes place on the first Sunday of each month (from 2 to 4 pm) in the Prayer Room at the Glendalough Hermitage Centre in Laragh. The prayers are led by one of the sisters and tea/coffee is available. Centering Prayer takes place from 7.30 to 8.30 pm each Thursday night at the Hermitage Centre. All are welcome. Community Archaeology Excavation

Glendalough Heritage Forum is delighted to confirm that the 2019 community archaeological excavation at Glendalough will take place from Tuesday August 6th to Friday August 16th. The excavation would not be possible without the support of Wicklow County Council, the Heritage Council, UCD, NPWS and OPW.
