They followed up this win with a draw against Avoca for their second game in 3 days. It was a much tighter game this time, Newtown built up a good lead 0-6 to 0-2 with the aid of a breeze in the first half, however they struggled to gain possession in the second half and Avoca came back strong and actually nudged ahead with a goal late in the game but credit to Newtown who battled back to goal themselves right at the very end to force the draw which was a fair result on the night.
