Community Games
Next weekend is the second of the National Festivals in UL Limerick and we have 12 competitors representing our area.  Long puck:  Liam Molloy and Ciara O’Byrne. U8 girls 60m: Grace Sheehy
U12 girls 100m Cassie O’Byrne. U16 girls 100m: Caoimhe Murphy. U16 girls 1500m: Laci Jane Shannon
U16 boys 1500m Tom Parker.  And also taking part with them in the U16 relays girls and mixed
Roisin Byrne, Juliette Nic Chonaill, Hannah Doyle, Shauna O’Shea, Caolin Goetelan.  The best of luck to you all we are very proud of you all. Do your best and enjoy the experience.   A big thank you to the managers travelling with them, Majella O’Shea and Pamela Murphy and our dedicated coaches over the last few weeks who gave up their time to coach the children,  Tara Lyons, Caoimhe Byrne, Majella O’Shea and Rachel McGrane.  The children and club appreciates all you have done to help our competitors do their very best.

Bowls Tournament

Aughrim Bowling Club will host an invitation bowls tournament in the Aughrim Sports complex on Monday and Tuesday next August 19th and 20th. Twenty four teams from Wicklow, Wexford, Carlow and Waterford will be competing over the two days. This is the second year that Aughrim has hosted this event and the bowling club are hopeful that this years event will be as successful and enjoyable as last year.

GAA News

Our adult hurling team play their first match in the Junior Hurling Championship next Wednesday night August 14th against Glenealy in Glenealy at would like to wish the team the very best of luck as we make our return to championship hurling after an absence of 10 years. Please come along and give them all the support we can for this game.

Feast of the Assumption

There will be Mass in Church of the Sacred Heart for the Feast of the Assumption on Wednesday August 14th at and on Thursday the August 15th at

The numbers: 5, 8, 23 and 25 drawn in this week’s Aughrim Sports club lotto August 6th.  Match three winners were: Billy Moules and Darragh O’Byrne, Ballymorris. The jackpot was not won.  The jackpot is €24000.  The weekly lotto supports Aughrim Camogie Club, Aughrim GAA club, Aughrim Rangers Soccer club and Aughrim sports complex. People who support the weekly lotto are lending support to the local sports clubs who are very much part of the community.

Town & Country Market

A warm welcome to all at Aughrim Town & Country Market, Rednagh Road, every Saturday from 10am-2pm. Enjoy the buzz in the Pavilion Cafe as you catch up with friends over coffee and treats.
