10:30 a.m. Course is €89.
Workshop is facilitated by award winning Burning House Productions.
Amy Potter and Emmet Kelly will lead the course.
Students will learn about screen acting and how to perform in front of a camera.
They will learn how to create a character.
How to write and devise a piece to film on camera.
How to bread down and analyse a script.
They will learn how to work in teams and how to take professional direction.

Heritage Week 2019|Greystones Tidy Towns Heritage Day
St. Crispin’s Cell, Lower Rathdown.
2.30 pm.
Traditional Irish Music on uilleann pipes.
Followed by repertoire of ballads and popular tunes with Canadh Le Cheile.
Canadh Le Cheile is popular local group led by Brian Whelan of The Cyclones.
3.15 pm
Exhibition of artefacts found during the archaeological dig at St. Crispin’s last November.
Archaeologist David McIlreavy will give an interpretation of the artefacts.
A Children’s Painting Competition will also be part of the day’s events.

Heritage Week|Slide Show Talk on the Irish Famine by Charles Egan
Arklow Library, 7 Main Street, Arklow; 7:00 p.m.
Our very own Greystones’ Charles Egan, author, historian, lecturer, is giving a special talk.
Charles has been invited to give his slide show by Arklow Library for Heritage Week.
Anyone who has heard Charles speak knows that we are in for a real treat.
The Irish Famine is a topic that Charles knows well.
And his very interesting slide show will be full of history and detailed information.
With a pre-famine population of eight million people, Ireland has never fully recovered.
The journey from Greystones to Arklow is very easy, going south on the M11, Exit 20.
It takes 35 minutes, with car parking opposite the library.
The evening will be well worth the travel and not to be missed !!

Greystones Library|A History of the Royal Hibernian Academy|John Turpin

This talk traces the development of the RHA from its foundation in 1821.
Original Lower Abbey Street premises were destroyed during the Easter Rebellion in 1916.
Present establishment is at 15 Ely Place.
John Turpin is former Professor of Art History and Director of the NCAD.
He is the author of the highly acclaimed History of the Royal Hibernian Academy of Arts.

Altidore Castle Kilpedder Open for Visits During Heritage Week
Altidore Castle in Kilpedder will be open for visits during Heritage Week in August.
Available dates are 19 to 25 August 2019, 2 pm to 6 pm by appointment.

Altidore Castle is a gem of a house, an 18th century castellated home.
Now owned by descendants of Thomas Addis Emmet.
Thomas Emmet was the brother of Robert, who gave his famous speech from the dock.
There is a an Emmet Museum with archive, artefacts and college books of Robert Emmet.
The mature and informal garden may be viewed.
The estate is managed organically.
This wonderful is home is well worth visiting and is right on our doorstep !!

Heritage Week|Delgany Fairy Trail Launch
Blind Lane of Priory Road, Delgany; 2:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
The trail takes in 250 metres of magical woodland.
It allows children to get close to lots of fairy actions.
Including seeing where they live.
And learning about what part of nature they look after !!
Visitors will be given a fairy trail activity leaflet.
And are invited to explore to their hearts content.
The Fairy Trail will be a permanent feature in Delgany.
Autism and Sensory Friendly Launch on Friday, 23 August, 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
The trail is on a gradual incline and is not suitable for wheelchairs.
