Tai Chi & Qi Gong Classes

Learn gentle flowing healing movements that relieve stress, improve flexibility and mobility.  Tai Chi & Qi Gong Classes are commencing on Wednesday evening September 4th. from 7 – 8 pm at Aughrim Sports & Leisure Complex. East Coast Night Truck Run

A night truck run will be held on Saturday October 5th at 7pm.  This run is a fundraiser for Lauralynn Children’s Hospice.  Registration is from 3pm in the Community Field, Aughrim.  The run will leave the Community Field at 7pm sharp and will go through the village, then proceed to Arklow, Gorey, Carnew and back to Aughrim.  This is for a very good cause and we hope people will come out to see the trucks and donate to the bucket collection. There may be some traffic delays while truck run is going through and parking restrictions will also be in place between 6.30pm and 7.30 pm. There may be some parking restrictions on the Rednagh Road during the afternoon. A raffle will be held in O’Toole’s Pub on the night of the run. Tickets for the raffle are available in Byrne’s Londis, in the field on the day of the run, in O’Toole’s pub on the night or by contacting Denis Newsome on 087 2387216.

Active Retirement

A visit to Castle Howard is planned for Thursday, September 26th. Entry is free and we will have lunch in Jacobs Well in Rathdrum. We are starting Line Dancing classes on Friday mornings. The first class is taking place this Friday September 27th. From next month, the monthly sub will increase to €3. This goes to buy gifts for speakers, teas, administration costs, postage, etc. We are having a crime prevention officer to speak at our next meeting. We would appreciate if as many as possible to attend. We will also have a book for signing in and taking subs will be in operation. This is necessary for insurance purposes.

Lotto

The numbers: 3, 4, 17 and 24 were drawn in this week’s Aughrim Sports club lotto September 16th.  The jackpot was not won.  Match three winners were: Mick Brown and M.J. Evesson. The jackpot is €1950.  The weekly lotto supports Aughrim Camogie Club, Aughrim GAA club, Aughrim Rangers Soccer club and Aughrim sports complex. People who support the weekly lotto are lending support to the local sports clubs who are very much part of the community.

The vigil Mass  on Saturday 8.00.pm. Sunday Mass 10.30.am.  Week Day Masses: Monday,Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday  10.00.am. Thursday Prayer Service 10.00.am.

Town & Country Market
