Gardai investigate raids at two business premises in Arklow

Gardai in Arklow are investigating raids at two business premises in the town which occurred overnight.

Raiders forced their way into the Applegreen service station using a sledgehammer to break one of the front windows on the Wexford road around 3am, it is understood they got away with a consignment of cigarettes.

The same gang forced their way into the Fonez World phone shop on the Main street, it is not known if they managed to take any items.

Gardai are currently viewing CCTV and are appealing to anyone who may have seen a dark blue Volkswagen Passat with a 05-LK registration in the Arklow area between 1,30am and 3.30am or  witnessed any of the incidents to contact Arklow Garda Station at 0402-32304.
