Rathdrum has been chosen to represent County Wicklow in the small population category(less than 2000) of the National Enterprise Town Awards.
A small group of local people have been working with Arklow Municipal District and Wicklow County Council to prepare for this.
There have been 2 successful events so far (Avon Motors and Jacobs Well Hotel) bringing together business people and community groups.
The next big event is Judging day this Monday 30th September. The judges will be in the town from 2pm and will spend 3 hours starting with a visit to the market, meeting business people and community group members, then they will hear presentations from local people.
A number of videos featuring local businesses and community groups have been put together & will be shown to showcase Rathdrum at it’s best.
The judges will visit 3 locations in Rathdrum; Comerford drapery, Hidden Valley & Zoetis.
In conjunction with this there will be a market in The Market Square from 12-4pm with a variety of stalls and produce available.
This is a really exciting opportunity for Rathdrum.
