Stratford-Grangecon player out for 6-8 weeks with broken collarbone

Stratford-Grangecon’s Ian Moore has been ruled out of action for six-to-eight weeks, after breaking his collarbone in last night’s intermediate relegation semi-final against Annacurra.

The incident occurred shortly before half-time in Baltinglass, at 8:20pm, when Moore collided with one of the Annacurra players.

The half-back received treatment from physio Clare Pierce for over an hour, at which point an ambulance arrived to take him to hospital at 9:40pm.

At this point, referee Garrett Whelan opted to call the game off with Annacurra leading 1-04 to 0-05.

Moore was then taken to Tallaght Hospital, where a clean break in his right collarbone was diagnosed.

He has since returned home, with a timeline of up to eight weeks recovery confirmed by the club.
