Derby Browne performs her personal tribute to The Blonde Bombshell – Marilyn Monroe – telling her story from childhood foster homes to stardom, champagne and Chanel No5, sanitoriums and her affairs with the Kennedy’s, The Mob, and Frank Sinatra. Her mysterious death at 36 still creates controversy in sharp contrast to her glamorous public image. The show is sprinkled with sugar candy cane toons from her movies and the 1950’s: ‘Diamonds are a Girls Best Friend‘, ‘I Want to Be Loved By You‘, and ‘My Heart Belongs To Daddy‘.
Derby is accompanied by David Wray Piano Trio.
Show devised and written by Derby Browne and has been performed at The National Concert Hall.
P.S. Derby is not a natural blonde. A wig will be worn. As Marilyn cannot be there in person, a pretty good rendition will be offered, and a fun show with fabulous music!
