GAA pitch vandalised in Knockananna

Gardai are investigating vandalism at the GAA pitch in Knockananna.

The pitch was vandalised by a vehicle doing ‘doughnuts’ on the grass some time between 6.30 pm and 10.30pm on Monday evening.

Club chairman Eugene Canna said “It is very disappointing as we had acquired land behind the goal at the village end of the pitch so people could park their cars and bring there children into the field, the gate was never locked as of now we will keep it locked and only open it for training and matches. The only thing we had going for us was the pitch is always dry even after the recent rain, if it had held water it might have been a lot worse.

We are appealing to anyone who has any information to contact the Gardai in Baltinglass at 059-648 2610.”
