Hail, frost and low temperatures are expected to arrive in the coming days as we edge closer to the winter season and “distinctly cooler conditions, according to Met Eireann.
Wednesday is due to get off to a bright start in the east of the country before scattered showers arrive from the west, providing us with a blustery night.
The heavy showers will continue into Thursday, with the potential of wintery downpours in some areas.
Low temperatures are predicted to make their presence felt as the weekend approaches. Temperatures could hit freezing in parts of the country with the temperatures as a whole being particularly low for this time of year.
Met Eireann have warned of cold nights and the potential of surface frost, particularly in inland areas.
