Afternoon Tea Dance

A pre-Christmas afternoon tea dance, hosted by Laragh Active Retirement, will take place in the Brockagh Centre from 3 to 6 pm on Sunday 17th November. Music will be by the Wicklow Man. All are welcome but groups must book in advance by calling the Centre on 0404-45600. There will be a small charge to cover refreshments. Donations of unwanted gifts to use as raffle prizes would be greatly appreciated.

GAA Training (Under 9yrs)

Training will be inside the Brockagh Resource Centre’s hall, starting on Friday, Nov 8th from 6-7pm, 4 weeks training only for under 9yrs. Call Ray on 087 8511934.

Laragh Glendalough Active Retirement Christmas Events

Our annual Christmas shopping trip will take place this year on Wednesday 20th November. Our Christmas party will be held in the Knightsbrook Hotel in Co. Meath on Tuesday 10th December; there are a limited number of places left − call Denise on 0404-45600 as soon as possible if you would like to know more. And finally, our Christmas lunch will take place in the Wicklow Heather on 17th December.

Regular Activities

The group meet on Tuesday mornings at 11 am in the Brockagh Centre. If you fancy a chat, a cuppa and some light exercise, bowls, chair badminton, dancing and music, come along and join in. New members are most welcome. If you would like further information on the group or its planned outings, or would like to offer your services / share your skills with the group, please email brockaghoffice@gmail.com, call Denise in the Brockagh Centre on 0404- 45600 (or just drop in). The group also meets for lunch once a month at various local venues – the next lunch date is 12th November in Lynhams of Laragh.

Remembrance Mass

A Mass of Remembrance for those who died during the year will take place in St. Kevin’s church at 7 pm on Saturday 16 th November.

Curvy Whirlies Fitness Class

Sunshine Fitness is proud to announce that our ‘Curvy Whirlies’ plus-sized ladies class is coming to the Brockagh Centre in Laragh this November 6th. This low-impact and fun exercise class will focus on strength building using a mixture of gentle movement, weights and stretching. No skinny-minnies allowed! Wednesday nights at 8pm, first class free and €5 drop-in thereafter. Please call 0876035780 or PM the page for more information.

Mobile Library

The mobile library visits Lynhams car park every second Thursday from 12.15 noon to 12.50 pm. The next visits will take place on 21st Nov and 5th of Dec.

Morning Yoga with Louise

Louise’s yoga class will be held every Thursday from 10 to 11.15 am in the Brockagh Resource Centre, Laragh.. This is a gently-paced class where students learn how to align, open and strengthen the body gradually while stabilizing the platforms of the feet and ankles, hips and pelvis and shoulder girdle. The class begins with general and targeted warm-up sequences followed by postures (Asanas) and Vinyasa (breath-connected) sequences before final relaxation in Savasana. Chair Yoga                                 

Our very popular Chair Yoga class will take place on Thursdays from 11.30 am to 12.45 pm in the Brockagh Resource Centre, Laragh.. Chair Yoga is suitable for almost everyone and helps students find balance and calm in everyday life. The class takes students through centering and breath-work, followed by postures that let the joints move through their range of movement whilst seated or through use of the chair whilst standing. Irish Dancing Classes

Irish Dancing on Saturday mornings from  9am-10am. Laragh Badminton Club

Badminton classes are in the Brockagh Resource Centre, Laragh with  Mon, Juniors 7-8pm (4th class), 8-9pm (5th Class up) on Thurs evenings  Juniors from 7-8pm(2nd yrs), Seniors at 8-9pm on Thursday evenings.
