St.Pat’s lose Leinster Q/F on penalties

St.Pat’s of Wicklow have lost out on a Semi-final place in the Senior Football championship by penalties to Portlaoise.

In a keenly contested game in Aughrim, it looked like St.Pat’s would advance. But were pegged back in time added on, to bring the game to extra-time.

The Wicklow outfit led at the break 1.04 to 0.5 with Stephen Duffy scoring the St.Pat’s goal.

The game went to extra time after the sides could not be separated with the final score 1-06 to 0-9.

St.Patrick’s went into the extra-time break with a slender one point lead 2.07 to 0-11.

The sides still could not be separated after extra-time with the game finishing 2-08 to 1-11.

Portlaoise came out on top after the penalties winning 5-4.
