Temperatures to plummet to January levels of cold over the next few nights

Met Eireann has predicted that temperatures will decline to “January levels of cold” over the next few evenings, with temperatures as low as -4 degrees forecasted for parts of the country.

A few hail and sleet showers will be present in places on Friday, but overall the day will be sunny and bright.

Saturday will begin cold and frosty but the east of the country will remain generally dry throughout the day.
