GAA AGM
Carnew Emmett’s GAA club held their AGM recently in the new room in the club house, a good crowd attended and the chair man thanked everyone for their help and support over the last year both on and off the field, the lotto committee for all their hard work, to those who sell and buy the lotto tickets , many thanks and wished everyone well for the coming year.
The following were elected president Edmund Hyland, chairman Tim Balfe, vice chair James Doran, secretary Niamh Myers, assistant Chucky House, treasurer Mick Greene, PRO Michael Rock.
CONCERT
There will be a Christmas concert in Askamore hall on Thursday 12th December with music by Stephen Murphy, Colaiste Bhride folk group, Padraig O’Connor, local comedy act featuring Mairead Kinsella and Brendan Hayden, singer Maria Tomkins abs story teller James Doran, a night not to be missed, tickets only €10 and all proceeds towards Askamore church and the camogie club.

BINGO
The next bingo in St Bridget’s Hall, Carnew is on Sunday 15th December, thanks to everyone for their support today it is greatly appreciated. There is a monster raffle on the 15th December, tickets only €2 per line, prizes are 1st a Christmas hamper, 2nd Poole’s voucher, 3rd Kerry foods fresh meat hamper, 4th Kerry foods hamper, 5th George Forman, 6th bottle of whiskey, 7th sweets and biscuits, 8th cuddly toy.
GOAL Mile – New Year’s Day 2020 in Tinahely
The 6th Tinahely GOAL Mile will take place on New Year’s Day 2020at 12 noon in Tinahely. This is a national family event open to all to help raise funds for GOAL’s work globally. The start & finish will be Murphy’s Hotel, Tinahely. Refreshments will also be served here afterwards kindly sponsored by Sam & Colin Horan.

TINAHELY WALKING CLUB
The following are the walks for the next two weeks for Tinahely Walking club on Sunday
December 15th is Ballinamanogue. Level B, 12 km, 3.5 hrs. Meet Tinahely 10 am.
December 22nd is Xmas Walk Stookeen Hill. Level C, 8 km, 2.5 hrs. Meet Walkers car park, Shillelagh 10.30 am.
As usual, please remember to wear proper walking boots, pack full rain gear and bring adequate food & drink. Please check Tinahely Walking Club Facebook page for any changes to the scheduled walks.
Ballyellis NS – Split the Pot
Winner of “Split the Pot” on Friday 2nd December 2019 is Niamh Tomkins, Askamore – winning €173. We thank everyone for supporting “Split the Pot”. Envelopes can be obtained from the School or any Parent and from Ashling Walsh after Sunday Mass in Askamore Church..

Carnew Emmets Juvenile Meeting:
The annual meeting of Carnew Juvenile Club will take place on Thursday the 12th of December, 2019 at 7:30 p.m. in Kenny’s, Main Street, Carnew. Important issues will be discussed at this meeting, there will be an up date on the Games Promotion Officer who will start in the new year, selection of team mentors and the Juvenile Committe. The existing Chairman and Secretary are prepared to continue for another year (subject to selection). We will have some new roles to fill and we are counting on your suport. We would encourage all mentors, members and parents to attend.
Carnew Emmets Juvenile Club’s 2020 Calendar will shortly GO ON SALE.. it’s a fantastic Christmas present and all proceeds from the sale of the calendars will go towards the costs of employing our Games Promotion Officer (GPO) who will start in the new year. Calendars will be on Sale locally in Victor’s Newsagency, Osborne’s (Centra) and Candy’s CostCutter.
TABLE QUIZ
Carnew Emmets are holding a table quiz on Saturday 14th of December in Kenny’s Corner House Carnew @ 8 pm. Table of 4 €40. There will be prizes and raffle on the night. Promises to be a great night out. All support greatly appreciated.
