Christmas Lights Switch On

The annual Christmas Lights Switch on will take place on Saturday December 7th at 6pm. Join the children’s choir for carol singing , this will be followed by some mince pies and mulled wine.

Magic Reindeer Food

This is available from Scoil Nicholas Naofa, the Parish Office and local shops at €1 a bag. All proceeds go to Solas Autism Unit.

St Vincent de Paul

The annual church collection will take place this weekend &th and 8th. All funds collected will remain in the area.

Supporting Friends of Calcutta

A clothes collection will take place on Thursday 12th at 12 noon. All items of wearable clothing and footwear are most welcome. Items can be dropped into parish centre before the 12th.All enquiries to Michael on 0879073074.

Death

Te death took place last week of Mary Nolan formerly of Fryanstown. Mary is mourned by her family Theresa, Mick, Liam, Rosie, Pauline , Cathy, Tony, Olivia and Eugene. May Mary rest in peace.

Culture Bus

The culture Bus will leave Dunlavin on December 12th at 5.30pm to travel to The Lyrath Hotel in Kilkenny for the Vladimir’s Viennese Christmas Gala. Telephone 0879693960 if interested.

Shoebox Appeal

Team Hope Christmas Shoebox Appeal – if anyone would like to fill a shoebox for children in need you can drop them into the Parish office, Scoil Nioclais Naofa or contact Shona on 087-6884879. Wallets for your €4 donation and a list of suitable items are available in the parish office.

Friedreich’s Ataxia Research – now have Christmas cards on sale in the Church and the Parish centre. There is a beautiful selection and the cost is only €10 for 15 cards, with €7 from every pack going to the charity.

The Culture Bus – will leave Dunlavin at 11am on Saturday, Dec 14th for the annual Christmas day out in Dublin. Leaving Dublin at 6pm.  Do as you wish, shop, meet friends or visit a gallery. Just enjoy the Christmas atmosphere.

Mandalas

Every Thursday morning we meet in An LAR to draw mandalas , paint tiles or create patterns .We use pencils ,paints ,markers ,compasses all under the guidance of Bernie Sheridan from Wexford.She supplies the materials . A trad music session takes place on the first Wednesday of every month in An Lar Cafe. Whether you play or just want to listen it is well worth popping in to it. Free of charge. Children friendly. Cosy fire.

The Irish Cancer Society – is looking for volunteers to drive patients to and from their chemotherapy treatments in all public hospitals nationwide. Volunteers will need their own car but all expenses are paid. If you have 2 free days a month (Monday – Friday) and an active email address we would love to hear from you. Green View Bar and Restaurant

Green View Bar and Restaurant is now open at Rathsallagh Golf Club. Opening Hours – Wednesday ad Thursday 12 noon to 8pm, Friday -Saturday 9am -9pm, Sunday 9am-7pm.  Sunday Lunch served 12 .30 to 4pm. Parties for all occasions will be catered for.

A Book Club is starting in Kilcullen Parish Centre on 20th September, running every 3rd Friday of the month.
