Carols by Candlelight in Glendalough(Note: Date change)
This event is now on Tues 17th December at 7.30 pm for a unique Christmas celebration in one of the most evocative settings in Co. Wicklow. We will begin with a candlelit procession through the monastic gates of Glendalough and proceed to the ruins of the cathedral for an evening of traditional carol singing in the monastic style. Some of our most familiar carols would have been sung here by the monks of Glendalough themselves in the 8th and 9th centuries. This event is free and open to everyone; however, children must be accompanied by an adult. Tea and coffee will be provided afterwards in the Glendalough Hotel, courtesy of Pat Casey. Assemble in the Glendalough Hotel car park at 7.15 pm. Wrap up warmly and bring your own lantern/torch and singing voice.
Christmas Parties and Greetings
We will hold our senior Christmas party in The Glendalough Hotel on Saturday 14th December, kicking off at 8 pm. There will be a DJ and finger food, a sponsored wax and a 1 cent draw on the night. Sponsorship cards and raffle tickets are available from any committee member or player. As this is in aid of our pitch development plan, we ask for your support.
Our juvenile Christmas party takes place in The Glendalough Hotel from 6 to 8 pm on Friday 13th December; we plan to have a DJ, refreshments and surprises on the night. Make sure to get all the kids out for what will be a great evening.
We wish all our members players and coaches a happy Christmas and New Year, and hope you will all be fresh and ready to go next season.
We send a special thanks to all who have purchased lotto tickets, etc. and donated towards our club in 2019; this does not go unnoticed and is much appreciated by all.
Well done to Mia Kenna Gilmore who recently represented our club in Wicklow Scór. Mia was excellent on the day and did herself, her family and her club proud!
