Tai Chi &Qi Gong Classes
New Block of Tai Chi &Qi Gong Classes starting on Wednesday 22nd January 7 – 8 pm – Beginners welcome. 

Learn gentle flowing healing movements that help to relieve stress, improve flexibility and mobility. I am delighted to offer a brand new class in Aughrim – Qi Gong (Specific ) which incorporates the beautiful Crane Method and the Taoist Yoga System  starting on Tuesday February 11th 8-9 pm.  This is a powerfully healing practice which helps to relieve stress from the nervous system and enhance the health of the whole body and develops your being. Venue: Aughrim Sports and Leisure Centre. Cost is €80 for a block of 8 classes.

Active Retirement

Yoga will continue on Tuesday mornings at 10.30. Line dancing resumed on Friday 17th January. We have a pottery course starting on Monday February 24th in Aughrim pottery, which will continue for 6weeks until March 30th from 11am- 12noon. The cost is €30, payable on first day. The collection for the Assistance Dog came to €320, of which €260 was contributed by our members. Thank you to all who supported this very good cause.

Aughrim Athletics Club

  The club will hold its annual AGM in the Coffee Dock, Aughrim Sports Complex on Wednesday January 22nd at 8.30.  We look forward to sharing club updates and plans with you on the night.  We are looking for nominations for Secretary and Chairperson roles in particular.  The club is now well established and the committee would really like to attract some new people with new ideas etc to continue moving our small and mighty club forward!!  Training resumes as normal for adults & children, from 7 – 8 at the Sports Complex from Monday13th. We look forward to welcoming new members.  Club membership will be due for renewal in January, forms and details available at training.  We look forward to seeing as many people as possible at the AGM


The numbers: 2, 9, 17 and 18 were drawn in this week’s Aughrim Sports club lotto January 13th.  The jackpot was not won. Match three winners were: Ann O’Shea, Lilly Star, Tim Howard and Nancy, Charlotte, Sophie, Dominic c/o Alice. The jackpot is €4350.The weekly lotto supports Aughrim Camogie Club, Aughrim GAA club, Aughrim Rangers Soccer club and Aughrim sports complex. People who support the weekly lotto are lending support to the local sports clubs who are very much part of the community.

Town & Country Market

Aughrim Town and country market are back in action after the Christmas break.  The market is open from 10 – 2 in the Pavilion, Rednagh Road. Enjoy the buzz in the Pavilion Cafe as you catch up with friends over coffee and treats. Delicious brunches and light lunches are also on offer.  Fresh local produce available, including organic fruit and vegetables, locally produced meat, eggs, preserves and fresh home baked bread and cakes. Aughrim Sports Complex

The AGM of Aughrim Community Sports and Leisure association will be held in the Aughrim Sports Complex on Thursday February 13th at 8.30 pm.

 Adults Fitness Class.

Proposed Adult fitness class Thursday mornings from 10.00 – 10.45 am. Venue : Annacurra Community hall. Cost : €30 per four week block. 

“Pound with Ais” workout is a fun, full body workout that combines cardio, conditioning, and strength training with yoga and Pilates inspired movements. 

Aisling is offering to give a taster workshop, at a discounted price, to see if enough interest to proceed with the weekly class.

Workshop details: Venue: Annacurra Community Hall. Date and time: Thursday February 27th from 10 -10.45am.  Cost €4.All you need to bring along is yoga mat or beach towel.

Proposed Yoga class for Children with Aoife from Enlighten Yoga.  Venue: Annacurra Community hall. Date, Thursday 5th March.  Time. We are offering two times 2.45 – 3.30 and 4.15 – 5.00 to see if interest.  Age group 5 to 11. Cost: €24 per four-week block
