Carnew notes week January 6th


An 8 week introductory course in the Healing Art of Mindful Writing will start on Tuesday 28th January at 10am – 11.30am In Transformations Studio, Donishal, Carnew , cost is €100 with a €30 deposit to secure your place.

Write from the heart – my healing art of mindful writing course is designed to help you overcome obstacles while discovering and experiencing the joy, peace and calm at the heart of your being.

It’s a simple yet profound mindful writing practice which is applicable, in a very practical way to everyday life and how you live it. It can also be enormous fun.

Absolutely no previous writing or meditation experience required.

Carnew GAA lotto was not won, numbers were 7,8,9,29, lucky dips were Sean Browne. Tara Doran. Ann Keogh c/o Tom Culkin. Sean Driver, the next draw was 6th January and the jackpot was €3,400.The winners of the Christmas draw was 1st €500 John Walsh. 2nd sticks Edward Balfe. 3rd drinks hamper Eddie Cullen 4th Jack O’Toole.

Carnew Emmett’s juvenile club have a calendar on sale in Victor Young’s, Centra and Candys at €10, proceeds from the sale of the calendar is going towards the new Games Promotion Officer to start in January, all support would be greatly appreciated.


The following are the walks for the next two weeks for Tinahely Walking club on Sunday 

January 12th is Jubilee Walk, Rathdrum. Level B, 10 km, 2.5 hrs. Meet Tinahely 10 am or Rathdrum 10.30 am.

On Sunday January 19th is  Coolmeelagh Loop. Level B, 14 km, 3.5 hrs. Meet Tinahely 10 am or Carnew Mart 10.30 am.

As usual, please remember to wear proper walking boots, pack full rain gear and bring adequate food & drink. Please check Tinahely Walking Club Facebook page for any changes to the scheduled walks.
